Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen (MDCC) is hosting a double-talk by Simon Peyton Jones, the chief designer of the Glasgow Haskell Compiler, for which he and Simon Marlowe recently obtained the ACM SIGPLAN Programming Languages Software Award 2011.
No prior knowledge of Haskell is required, but knowledge of functional programming is, of course, beneficial. (Luckily, every student at DIKU will have that by the time, including 1st year students taking Introduction to Programming.) Simon is a very lively and entertaining speaker -- also people with in-depth information of Haskell are bound to enjoy it and learn something.
